Reporter Tools Help
The Biodiversity Atlas reporting tools allow us to better understand issues that relate to the biodiversity of the Columbia Basin in Canada. By contributing to this initiative you allow us to further our understanding of the biodiversity of our basin.
Left click on any existing point to show a pop-up window containing information about that point along with who created it.
Registration & Logging in
Logging in can be accomplished by using the Login Panel attached to the right of the map.
If you do not have a username and password already you can click the register link. You will be taken to a new page where you can enter your desired username and password combination, along with an e-mail address where we can reach you if we have any questions about your entered data.

Once logged in, click the symbol in the legend that matches the type of data point you would like to add.
Next, click the location of the point, zooming in may be helpful for more accurate placement. A pop-up window will then appear.
Here you can enter your data in to the pop-up window as required. To make the pop-up window larger click the maximize button in top right of the window
When finished close the pop-up by clicking the x in the top right corner of the pop-up window or click anywhere on the map. Entries will automatically save.
To create another point repeat the above steps starting with selecting the type of data point you would like to enter. Any points that you have entered will show up with the larger icon, whereas points entered by others will show up as points in corresponding colours.
Editing & Deleting
To edit a point, just click the point to bring up pop-up window and edit fields as necessary. Changes will automatically save. You can only edit points that you created.
To delete an entry, click on the point you would like to delete and scroll to the bottom of the pop-up window and click delete. You can only delete points that you have created.
